First the governors voted on proposed policies and recognized outgoing governors. The 2005-2006 NGA chairmanship will pass to Governor Huckabee who spoke briefly at the end of the session. Governor Barbour spoke about the July 2006 NGA summer conference which will be held in Biloxi, Mississippi.
