Ms. Johnson-Sirleaf talked about her candidacy, through the Unity Party, to become the next president of Liberia and U.S. policy toward Africa. She discussed how the country will be able to rebuild itself after the rule of President Charles Taylor and the recent end to the 14-year civil war in Liberia. She talked about debt relief and other foreign aid from G-8 nations and her plans to stop corruption within her country’s government if elected president. She responded to audience telephone calls, faxes, and electronic mail. close
