Iraqi President Talibani spoke to reporters about liberty and democracy in Iraq. He discussed the regime of the Ba’ath Party under Saddam Hussein and the terror they instilled on the Iraqi people. He also mentioned the recent tragedies in Iraq and the United States. Following his remarks, he responded to questions and comments from members of the audience.

Mr. Indyk, who asked the first question, moderated the question and answer session. Some questions and responses contained Arabic words, which were translated into English. close
