At the 2005 World Summit High-Level Plenary Meeting of the 60th Session of the United Nations General Assembly, Ricardo Alarcon de Quesada, President of the National Assembly of People’s Power of Cuba, spoke to the delegates from member countries. He described the eight objectives and 18 goals that had been set were modest. President Alarcon de Quesada also said that little has been done to achieve these goals and that “poor nations have the right to development and will continue to fight for it.”
