Steve Forbes discussed his book Flat Tax Revolution: Using a Postcard to Abolish the IRS, published by Regnery Publishing. He explained his plan to spur economic growth in the U.S. by adopting a simpler 17 percent flat tax and discarding the current federal tax code. He is interviewed by Alice Rivlin, Senior Fellow at the Brookings Institution and former Vice Chair of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System.

Steve Forbes is president and Chief Executive Officer of Forbes and editor-in-chief of Forbes magazine. He was a Republican candidate for president in 1996 and 2000.

Alice Rivlin is a Senior Fellow at the Brookings Institution and former vice chair of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System. She served as director of the White House Office of Management and Budget from 1994-1996, after two years as deputy director. Her government service also includes tours as founding director of the Congressional Budget Office and assistant secretary of the Department of Health, Education, and Welfare. close
