The World Affairs Book Club discussed Andrew Bacevich’s book The New American Militarism: How Americans are Seduced by War, published by Oxford University Press. They talked about how America is becoming a militaristic nation, increasingly relying on the military to solve international problems in place of diplomacy. They also discussed that it is not only the Bush administration, but also the American public in general, that romanticizes the military and identifies military power with national greatness.
