Author William Styple spoke about is latest book “Generals in Bronze: Interviewing the Commanders of the Civil War” Mr. Styple compiled and edited the interviews originally conducted by sculptor James E. Kelly. Mr. Kelly produced 40 bronze sculptures of Union commanders. During the process of producing those statues, Mr. Kelly took the opportunity to take first hand accounts of the Civil War from those officers. Mr. Styple spoke with C-SPAN at the New York Historical Society and the interview features handwritten pages of Mr. Kelly’s interviews. close
