The Millions More Movement commemorated the 10th anniversary of the Million Man March on the National Mall with speeches and performances highlighting the theme of reparation, repair, rebuilding, reconstruction and renewal of the black community. Participants focused on internal methods and programs for self-repair and renewal, as well as the responsibility of the government in fostering a climate of growth for minority movements.

The morning portion of the program included speeches on the goals of the movement, identification of areas of development in the black community, and the presentation of a covenant pledge of action.

Part of the program also highlighted the plight of victims of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, and victims of racism. Coverage of this portion ends abruptly following a point in the program in which audio was lost due to technical difficulties. Parts of remarks by victims' families were lost as a result of the difficulties. Following audio difficulties these remarks continued, and were included on the afternoon recording. close
