Mr. Specter interviewed Larry Kramer about The Tragedy of Today’s Gays, published by Tarcher. Mr. Kramer wrote in his book about the history of AIDS and how he believes that gays have become a tragic people. He discussed their sexual abandon where they “are murdering each other” and a growing addiction to crystal-meth. He also spoke about the lack of civic and political involvement when faced with powerful and hateful opposition. Following the interview, Mr. Kramer responded to questions and comments from members of the audience who lined up behind a microphone. close
