Participating from Colorado, Jennie Bowser provided an overview of the role and history of ballot initiatives as well as those on the ballot in the November elections. She provided background in initiatives dealing with gay rights, medical malpractice and measure that affect business. Ms. Bowser also responded to questions and comments from viewers.

Participating by telephone from Maine, Tim Russell and Ted O’Meara spoke about Question 1 on the Ballot. It asks residents of Maine if they want to reject a law passed by the State legislature that would extend civil rights protections to all people regardless of sexual orientation. Mr. Russell participated from Augusta, while Mr. O’Meara telephoned from Portland.
