As part of a day-long conference on intelligent design, Father Coyne spoke about science, religion, and the Catholic Church’s views on the value of accepted science and teaching intelligent design. Following his remarks Mr. Novak responded to issues raised by Father Coyne. Among the issues they addressed were the proper place of creation and evolution theories in scientific explanations of the universe, scientific methodologies and the history of scientific investigation, and the church’s role in scientific discovery. Following their remarks they answered questions from the audience.
