Senior officials and experts participated in a panel discussion to examine the array of possible scenarios, and whether existing laws are sufficient, in the event of another catastrophic event. They spoke about possible man-made or natural acts occurring on U.S. soil and the effect on the nation. Included among the topics they discussed was the Posse Comitatus Act of 1878, prohibiting the use of military forces for law enforcement. Following their discussion, the panelists responded to questions and comments from members of the audience. close
