The American Bar Association hosted an event on "Law During a Catastrophe". Senior officials and experts talked about whether existing laws were sufficient in the event of a catastrophic event. They spoke about possible man-made or natural acts occurring on U.S. soil and the effect on the nation. Included among the topics they discussed was the Posse Comitatus Act of 1878, prohibiting the use of military forces for law enforcement. close
