Representative Markey spoke to reporters about legislation he would sponsor legislation to preserve the current ban on box cutters, knives, and other sharp objects form passenger planes. Since the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, these items had been banned, but the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) announced its intention to lift the ban later in the month. close
