Mr. Lederman talked about federal funding of colleges and universities. He spoke about the amount of money the institutions receive through research grants, student aid and earmarks in legislation through Congress. According to Mr. Lederman, the Johns Hopkins University and the University of Washington were the two schools receiving the most amount of federal funding. He also responded to audience telephone calls, faxes, and electronic mail.

Participating by telephone, Mr. Kammer spoke about his recent stories on federal funding for the California State University at San Bernardino. He also talked about the lobbyist connections of House Appropriations Committee Chairman Jerry Lewis (R- CA). close
