Seretary Chertoff and Mr. Mayer briefed reporters on new grant programs for urban area security as a part of developing a risk-based strategy for homeland security. The program was designed to aid areas with populations over 100,000 and improve coordination within designated geographic locations. They spoke individually about the goals and operation of the initiative and answered questions from reporters. close
