The Washington Press Club Foundation held is annual Salute to Congress dinner with speeches by Senator Specter, Rep. Hoyer, and journalist Andrea Mitchell who presented the awards. A lifetime achievement award was presented to Washington Post Capitol Hill correspondent Helen Dewar. A short video was shown in honor of Ms. Dewar containing words of praise from Senators Edward Kennedy and John McCain, and others.

Ms. Dewar was ill and unable to attend the dinner. close
