Torie Clarke was interviewed about her book Lipstick on a Pig: Winning in the No-Spin Era by Someone Who Knows the Game, published by Free Press. In her book, former Pentagon spokeswoman Torie Clarke advised politicians and executives to use straight talk instead of trying to spin the news in the new information age. She also wrote about other lessons she has learned during her twenty-five years of experience working in politics and communications.
Ms. Clarke was an adviser to Sen. John McCain, later a press secretary to President George H.W. Bush’s 1992 campaign, and was a former Assistant Secretary for Defense for Public Affairs from 2001-2003. She is currently senior communications and government affairs adviser for Comcast. close
