The panelists talked about the topic, “Sovereignty, Natural Resources and Environmental Justice.” They focused on natural resources in Africa and Latin America. Topics included hurricanes fueled by global climate change, maintaining ties across national boundaries, identifying constituents in environmental efforts, oil pollution on the U.S. Gulf coast, Latino immigrants in the U.S., dwindling water and oil resources, and pollution in New Orleans caused by Hurricane Katrina. After their presentations the panelists answered audience members' questions.
