It was noted that investors in mutual funds are considered shareholders of these corporations under the Investment Company Act of 1940, which was created by Congress to regulate companies offering investment products to the public. Topics included mutual fund advisers, selling mutual funds, governance of mutual fund corporations, and proposed changes in the federal regulations.
