Adding details to IMF President Paul Wolfowitz’s earlier news conference, the participants talked with reporters about the World Bank and International Monetary Fund’s third annual Global Monitoring Report. They mentioned the Millennium development goals from the Monterrey Conference in which the developed countries agreed to increase and improve the quality of their aid, while the developing countries agreed to improve governance. Topics included monetary governance, money for education and health, investment in infrastructure, reduction of extreme poverty, child mortality rates, and the U.N. convention against corruption. After their remarks they answered reporters' questions. close
