Melanie Phillips talked about her book Londonistan, published by Encounter Books. The suicide bombings carried out in London in 2005 by British Muslims revealed an enormous fifth column of Islamist terrorists and sympathizers. London had become such a European hub for the promotion, recruitment and financing of Islamic terror and extremism that European security agencies mockingly dubbed Britain “Londonistan.” In her book Ms. Phillips argues that

Britain has become overly tolerant of the radical Islamicists who live there. Ms. Phillips says that in an effort to protect minority rights, the British government has let those who wish to destroy Western society live freely within its borders and preach whatever they wish. She suggests that immigrants be required to accept basic norms of British society before they are allowed to live there and explains why she thinks that the problem is not getting the attention that it deserves. close
