The closing general session of the 2006 Governor’s Hurricane Conference was moderated by Linda Stoughton, a member of the board of directors of the Governor’s Hurricane Conference. Secretary Cohen spoke extensively about Florida disaster relief and financial recovery programs, the Florida Small Cities Fund, team approaches, and the hardest-hit counties. Other speakers talked about Red Cross training and preparation, Federal Emergency Management Agency programs, and global warming and atmospheric science.
