Representative King talked about homeland security and the Department of Homeland Security’s anti-terrorism grants to urban areas. Chairman King held a hearing on this the previous day featuring the mayors of New York and Washington, D.C. Both mayors say they got 40% cuts in DHS anti-terrorism grants, which were announced May 31, 2006. Mr. King is holding a series of hearings about the grants and the risk formula used by DHS to arrive at grant funding levels. He responded to telephone calls and electronic mail. close
