The House Veterans' Affairs Committee held its fifth full committee oversight hearing on the recent data theft of personal information. This hearing focused on the institutional barriers of the Veterans Administration’s current information technology organizational structure to provide an integrated departmental policy on cyber security and protection of sensitive personal data at the VA. Testimony also included what the VA plans to do, or has already done to prevent future security breaches, and plans for mitigation in the event of identity theft as a result of this data breach. close
