The guests talked about the summer course on Conflict Resolution that they have taught for the past 12 years at the University of Maryland. They also discussed their perspectives on the current conflict between Israel and Hezbollah. They responded to telephone calls and electronic mail.

Ambassador Hassassian, a Palestinian, was a professor at Bethlehem University, West Bank. Edward Kaufman, an Israeli, was the executive director and a senior research associate at the Hebrew University Harry S. Truman Research Institute for the Advancement of Peace in Jerusalem for 30 years. While they are in the United States, they share a house and a cell phone and also jointly teach the class. close
