Chief Justice Williams talked by remote connection from Boston about the use of military tribunals and habeas corpus from the presidency of Abraham Lincoln until today. He responded to telephone calls.
President Bush appointed Chief Justice Williams to a review panel for military commission proceedings being held at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. The chief justice is also founding chairman of the Lincoln Forum, a member of the Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Commission, and the author of several books on President Lincoln. close
