Mr. Gilead Sher, former policy coordinator to Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak, discussed the ongoing Arab-Israeli conflict. He talked about his recently translated book Within Reach: The Israeli-Palestinian Peace Negotiations 1999-2001, published by Routledge. Topics included Israeli politics, the Palestinian Hamas Party, the Hezbollah Party in Lebanon, fanaticism in Pakistan, and the war in Iraq. After his presentation he responded to audience members' questions.

Mr. Sher, an attorney, was the head of the Israeli negotiating team at the Camp David 2000 Summit and later at the Taba talks. He also commented on current events. close
