As part of a three-day conference, “Aftershock: Rethinking the Future Since September 11,” panelists discussed the influence of victims' families on public policy. A video produced by Families of 9/11 Victims, “Impact on Public Policy,” was shown. The panelists talked about creating new grass roots organizations, the resilience of survivors, stories of their personal losses from the 9/11 attacks, gaining the right to disclose all the 9/11 tapes, increasing airline safety, and outreach work in countries such as Afghanistan. After their presentations the panelists responded to audience members' questions.

Mr. Shadick served as moderator. This event was held at Pace University’s Michael Schimmel Center for the Arts. close
