Secretary-General Kofi Annan addresses the United Nations General Assembly on the opening day of the 61st session. In his final speech as secretary-general, he talked about successes and failures over the last 10 years, and highlighted the Israeli-Palestinian conflict as the key challenge for the future leader of the U.N. He also talked about an unjust world economy, world disorder and widespread contempt for human rights, as well as fostering the rule of law. close
