Ambassador Nikolay Spassky, deputy head of the Russian Federal Atomic Energy Agency, spoke about “Nuclear Energy and U.S.-Russian Cooperation.” In July 2006, President Putin and President Bush agreed to work together to explore cooperation on nuclear energy technology and joined the Global Nuclear Energy Partnership. He also discussed Russia’s plans for growth in the domestic use of nuclear technology and sales of civilian nuclear reactors abroad. Ms. Mathews moderated the question and answer session. close
