The Federal Communications Commission held a field hearing to seek public comments for the 2006 Quadrennial Broadcast Media Ownership Review. Federal and state legislators, media industry representatives and members of the public commented on proposed rule changes for media ownership rules. Among the issues addressed were consumer access to local news and information sources, distribution concerns, the proposed numbers of media outlets and size of companies with interests in local outlets, and meeting the needs of the public interest.

This afternoon session was hosted by the University of Southern California Annenberg School for Communication Center for Communication Law and Policy in the USC Davidson Conference Center. close
