Republican incumbent Rep. Hostettler and Democratic challenger Ellsworth debated national issues in the campaign for Indiana’s 8th Congressional District seat. Prepared questions were presented to the candidates by the moderator, a member of the League of Women Voters. There was no studio audience.

The debate was held in the PBS television studios at Vincennes University. The sponsors were the League of Women Voters of Knox County (Vincennes), Southwest Indiana (Evansville), Bloomington-Monroe County, and Vigo County (Terre Haute). close
