In the sixth in a series of public hearings on the current and future roles of the National Guard and Reserves, Generals Jones and Smith testified about reserve component operations within the total force structure, military operational requirements abroad and on the domestic front, the capabilities of reserve and National guard forces needed to meet military readiness guidelines, and personnel levels needed from reserve and guard ranks. They also focused on the changing missions of military forces, operating in joint task force environments, training programs, and programs to evaluate readiness. close
