Steven Smith talked about his book, Reading Leo Strauss: Politics, Philosophy, Judaism, published by University of Chicago Press. He argued that the published writings of German-born philosopher Leo Strauss are misread and that Leo Strauss would not embrace neoconservatism. The author said that Leo Strauss was not active in politics, never endorsed imperialism, and questioned political philosophies. After his presentation Professor Smith responded to audience members' questions. The program ends abruptly. close
