Ray Takeyh discussed his book Hidden Iran: Paradox and Power in the Islamic Republic, published by Times Books. In his book Mr. Takeyh analyzes the relationship between the United States and Iran and proposes a new approach. He says that America has never really understood Iran and he provides an explanation for what he believes is actually happening inside the country. Robert Litwak was the guest interviewer.
Ray Takeyh is a senior fellow for Middle Eastern Studies at the Council on Foreign Affairs. Mr. Takeyh is a contributing editor for The National Interest. Previously he taught at the National War College.
