Rashid Khalidi talked about his book The Iron Cage: The Story of the Palestinian Struggle for Statehood, published by Beacon Press. He discussed the reasons that Palestinians have so far not been able to achieve statehood. He encouraged Palestinians to learn more about their history in order to overcome obstacles with which they have been challenged since the era of British control over Palestine. He responded to audience members' questions.
Professor Khalidi is the Edward Said Chair in Arab Studies at Columbia University. He also is the author of Resurrecting Empire. close
