Former Secretary of State Alexander Haig was interviewed by Mr. Naftali about the Nixon administration’s foreign policy and his role in it. The two men sat on a stage and held their conversation before an audience. In addition to the Nixon administration other topics included the Cold War, the Ronald Reagan presidency, China, the September 11 attacks, the war in Iraq, neoconservatives, and his experiences with Donald Rumsfeld and Richard Cheney. After the conversation Secretary Haig responded to audience members' questions.
General Haig was a special assistant to the National Security Council before becoming chief of staff to President Nixon, and later was named Supreme Allied Commander in Europe and Secretary of State by President Reagan.
