Jennifer Armstrong talked about her book, illustrated by Roger Rothe, The American Story: 100 True Tales from American History, published by Knopf Books for Young Readers. The book is a collection of vignettes highlighting the nation’s history, intended for ages 9-12. Jennifer Armstrong described her writing process and how she picked several of the stories included in the book. She talked about the persistance of historical myths and how she did her research. She also talked about the process of illustrating books. Ms. Armstrong answered questions from members of the audience. close
