The guests talked about the federal appeals court ruling earlier in the week involving Guantanamo detainees and future action on the issue in Congress as well at the Supreme Court. Tuesday, February 13, 2007, the D.C. Circuit Court upheld the Military Commissions Act and ruled that the detainees at Guantanamo Bay prison do not have the right to challenge their imprisonment in U.S. federal courts. Mr. Casey supported the ruling while Mr. MacLean, and attorney for Kuwaiti detainees at Guantanamo Bay prison, opposed it. The guests responded to telephone calls and electronic mail. close
