Beginning with World War I and extending to the present, Mr. Lando cited actions that he says have caused massive death and long-term psychological trauma to the country’s people, including the 1963 CIA-backed coup that brought the Baath Party to power; and America’s role in the failed 1991 Iraqi revolt against Saddam Hussein.
