Topics included Pakistani seminaries and their relation to jihads, Hamas radicalization of Palestinians, and terrorism in East Africa caused by government corruption, religious fundamentalism, and endemic poverty. After their presentations the panelists responded to audience members' questions.

Professor Shinn is a former State Department coordinator for Somalia.
