Ron Soodalter talked about his book Hanging Captain Gordon: The Life and Trial of an American Slave Trader, published by Washington Square Press. The author argued that President Abraham Lincoln strengthened the nation’s anti-slave trading law and ended the notorious slave trading voyages of U.S. vessels by refusing to stop the federal execution of a slave trader. After his presentation Mr. Soodalter responded to audience members' questions.
