Ralph Nader was interviewed by Amy Goodman about controlling corporations for the public good. The multinational corporation has grown in power from being a tool to becoming the dominant institution in the global political economy. Other topics included the importance of oil, the Defense Department budget, labor unions, lobbying, breaking up corporations, and the definition of fascism as ‘private concentrated economic power taking government away from the people.’

The consumer advocate and 2000 presidential candidate also offered his opinions on the 2008 presidential candidates and talked about whether he may run.

This was the concluding part of the conference “Taming the Giant Corporation” held at the Carnegie Institute by Ralph Nader and The Center for Study of Responsive Law. close
