Former Mexican Foreign Affairs Minister Jorge Castaneda talked about his book Ex Mex: From Migrants to Immigrants, published by New Press. He talked about U.S. and Mexican immigration policy and the Mexicans who have come to the United States looking for a better future. A panel discussion followed his remarks. Then the panelists responded to questions from members of the audience.

Jorge Castaneda is a Global Distinguished Professor of Politics and Latin American and Caribbean Studies at New York University. Julia Preston was formerly the New York Times bureau chief in Mexico City. Robert Smith is an associate professor of Sociology, Immigration Studies and Public Affairs at Baruch College School of Public Affairs. close
