Mr. McNulty testified at a hearing on the continuing investigation into the controversy surrounding the firing of selected U.S. attorneys. In his testimony he addressed questions about his prior testimony that had recently been called in question about his role in the decision-making process regarding hiring and firing practices at the Justice Department, said that he played a minimal role in the dismissals and had little direct contact with Attorney General Gonzales over the matter, and addressed charges that the dismissals were made for partisan political reasons. close
