Jeffrey Sachs and a panel of experts discussed the book he co-edited, Escaping the Resource Curse, a joint effort of the Revenue Watch Institute and Columbia University’s Initiative for Policy Dialogue. Topics included an assessment of why so many resource-rich countries do poorly economically and have low per capita incomes, the root causes of the ‘curse,’ and ways the countries can avoid falling victim to it such as transparency in the management of resources. After their presentations they responded to audience members' questions.
