The U.S. Department of Transportation National Highway Traffic Safety Administration held a public meeting to assess bus safety and the potential use of seat belts on large school buses. Opening remarks were made by Administrator Nason, Secretary Peters, Ms. Tylko and Deborah Hersman. Ms. Hersman, a certified Child Passenger Safety Technician, was the NTSB board member on scene for the investigation of the February 2007 school bus crash in Huntsville, Alabama. close
