Representative Upton, the ranking Republican on the House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Telecommunications and the Internet, was interviewed about his concerns regarding the upcoming auction of analog radio spectrums by the Federal Communications Commission. Analog television spectrums must all be replaced by digital by February 2009 and will then be available for auction.
