Marc Sandalow spoke about his book Madam Speaker: Nancy Pelosi’s Life, Times, and Rise to Power, published by Modern Times. The book chronicles Nancy Pelosi’s life, from her childhood watching her father conduct his duties as a mayor and as a U.S. representative to growing up to become the first female speaker of the House. He spoke about the historical significance of Nancy Pelosi’s rise, her unusual political career, and the durability of her character that allowed her to become the speaker. Following his prepared remarks he answered questions from members of the audience. close
