Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Patrick Leahy held a news conference about the scheduled return of subpoenas for documents relating to the authorization and legal justification for the administration’s warrantless wiretapping program from 2001 to 2007. In his remarks he indicated that he would no longer grant extensions for the submission of documents requested by the committee, saying the Bush administration had had more than enough time to locate and produce material.
